Dominican Academy: Dominican Academy has been educating young women intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually since 1897. Located in the heart of the Upper East Side on 68th Street between Park and Madison Avenues, Dominican Academy (da) consistently ranks among New York City’s best high schools. Operated by the Dominican Sisters of Peace and lay staff, da unites academic excellence and an all-honors curriculum with an intimate, family-like atmosphere. da challenges and empowers young women to be local and global leaders in the 21st century. Lay Fraternity of St. Dominic (Third Order): The Our Lady of the Assumption Chapter of the Lay Fraternity of St. Dominic meets on the third Thursday of each month for approximately two hours, directly after attending the 6:00 pm Mass in St. Vincent Ferrer Church, meeting in the Parish Center (at street level, to the left of the Priory stairs). Dominican Laity share deeply the spiritual charisms of the Dominican Order while remaining in the lay state.
Frassati Fellowship: Frassati is a fellowship of young adults seeking to draw closer to Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church in the spirit of Pier Giorgio Frassati. Through opportunities for fellowship, recreation, service, and spiritual formation, we build meaningful friendships with one another and grow in our relationship with Christ. Our activities include service to the poor, hikes, Holy Hours, Bible studies, pilgrimages, and more.
Legion of Mary: The Legion of Mary works in union with Mary to evangelize the world and win it over to Jesus and His Church. It is a worldwide organization of the lay apostolate, in which Catholic men, women, and youth sanctify themselves through prayer and apostolic work in union with Our Lady under the guidance of a priest. Meetings at St. Catherine of Siena are held each Thursday at 1:30 pm in the church sacristy with their chaplain, Fr. Joseph Allen, o.p.. All are welcome!
Catholic Medical Association (CMA): The New York Metropolitan Guild of the Catholic Medical Association assists with serving the spiritual needs of health care workers in the Archdiocese of New York. The guild meets on the second Sunday of each month for the 10:00 am Mass, followed by brunch and a lecture at 11:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena.
The New York Purgatorial Society: The Society is dedicated to promoting prayer for the Faithful Departed. Once a month it sponsors a Requiem Mass at the Rosary Altar in St. Vincent Ferrer. Each November the Society sponsors a Solemn Requiem Mass in the Extraordinary Form. More information is available at www.nypurgatorial.com.
